In a word - UGLY! I've seen plenty of D2 games over the years, but none as ugly as yesterday's Hawaii/Valdosta match-up. One fielding error after another. What an embarassing representation of our sport. And these were supposed to be the 2 best teams in D2. :(
1. Grass Infields? No.
2. Little League Softball plays their national tournament on grass infields. Need I say more?
3. As long as the surface plays like dirt, I don't see why not.
4. A week long tournament ought to be a 10 game guarantee, minimum. 7 games is a weekend format.
I'm looking into the ISA - Independent Softball Assoc. - world series, scheduled for mid-July in central Florida. We don't have ISA here in Virginia, so I'm trying to get some input from folks with experience at ISA events.
Wrong on both counts, ASAPAump. Runner has to stay in the established basepath and you need to hustle your butt out of the coaches box and avoid interfering with the play.
The length to weight ratio is most easily explained by example. A 31/21 bat is 31" long and weighs 21 ounces or is -10 (31 minus 21), meaning the weight of the bat (in ounces) is 10 less than the length of the bat (in inches). Another example, a 33/24 is a -9 (33-24 = 9).
An athletic scholarship? That's not $136,000 for 4 years, that's $34,000 per year for every year the coach feels she's worth renewing. Not a subtle difference.
