DD got the Financial Aid Agreement and the NLI (Nat'l Letter of Intent) a few days before signing period. Both were signed and returned on National Signing day (Nov 9th) in her case. This is for D1.

General advice for softball parents of talented players

Thank you for sharing. I'm glad to hear she made the Dean's list (to my amazement, my DD did also in her first semester). I hope when the season starts, and all of the work starts paying off, that she will find the love again.

General advice for softball parents of talented players

I agree with you here, especially with pitchers. Some are so dominating at the 14/16U age groups that have college coaches tripping over themselves to get behind the dugout and watch them, but don't improve as much as some skilled position players as they age up. Just looking at some freshman...

    College playing opportunities...

This is true because they are technically in-season now, but this does NOT prevent them from having "unofficial visits" and making offers, or talking on the phone. These coaches will answer the phone when you call, so why not call and talk to them? I'll bet 95% of coaches will tell you if they...

    Stop hitting down!

Eric, I may have come off a little to harsh (and I wasn't trying to point anyone in particular out) You are one of ones I respect and value what you bring to this site. Sometimes these little issues like not getting lift on the ball is best worked out by actually just going out to a cage, field...

    Stop hitting down!

Forget watching all the videos.. putting videos on here to analyze... over thinking the swing. Go get a T and hit off if it until she can hit it out of the infield, like an earlier poster said. Lot's of reps.. lot's of reps... lot's of reps.... hitting is not learned on a message board...

    Fantastic Pop Time Fanatics

Yes, but the last time was as a 12 year old playing "travel" baseball. Lot's of catching (and pitching) during that 7-12 y/o time frame. :)
