Trick Play to end Florida 7a State Championship

That wasn’t the intention to embarrass the other team. Lake Brantley played a good game. In 7th inning outcome was pretty much decided. Girls got the opportunity to run a play that was fun and exciting for them and a great memory to end States.

Trick Play to end Florida 7a State Championship

Not what is was about. Lake Brantley played a good game. LWR needed a final out and it was a great opportunity to let the girls try to run a play they had practiced and were so excited when it got called. Outcome at that point was pretty much determined, but made ending memorable for the girls.

    Status of Softball in Florida

In our county they are waiting on Governor to OK youth sports, but then. The County/Parks are gonna take another week or so to decide what our guidelines will be in regard to TB practices vs hosted tournaments. I’m thing PGF is moving events to privately owned fields in Claremont to avoid addl...

Catcher's mitt - does more expensive actually last longer?

Just ordered JCV-VM form Dakemir. DD can't wait. Came down to if we should get 33" or 34", I suggested she go up to 34", but she said she likes her current mitt so we stayed with the 33". I'm not sure what drives that decision, is it just preference? She tried some teammates 34" gloves...

    Is VINCI JCV-22 a 33 inch glove?

Agree, it a great mitt great price. Daughter has a JCV-PC which is very similar. After much use she needs to replace it. She is 1st year 14U and preferred to stay with the 33" so just ordered a JCV-VM from Drakemir.

    Bunt Coverage

Can't think of a reason why you wouldn't, ss would cover 3rd. With a good bunt the only play will still probably be at 1st.

    Reverse framing

I agree the catcher can help their pitcher out a lot receiving the ball correctly and using their body position to present the pitch favorably to the ump. I always tell DD to stick the pitches that are close for a second to help ump make the right call;) and don't stick pitches that are...

Catcher's mitt - does more expensive actually last longer?

DD has been very happy with the performance and fit of the Vinci mitt she's using, and I'm not complaining about it wearing out considering the amount of use she's gotten out of it. Buying a direct replacement was my first thought, however I see Vinci makes two models that are more expensive...

    Dr. Visit Bad News

Sorry to hear about your DD, that's never the news you want to get. My oldest DD had very similar surgery on her meniscus a few years back (gymnastics). Surgery went great and minimal pain following surgery and during recovery. She stayed active at the gym and with her teammates and after 6...

Catcher's mitt - does more expensive actually last longer?

I was looking at the Liberty Advance, may be worth checking out as an option, would be nice for DD to find one local to try out. Thanks!

Catcher's mitt - does more expensive actually last longer?

Thanks Eric, I see the JCV34 is at a higher price point than the JVC-PC. Wondering if it is a higher quality leather? the 34 states it is kip leather, the PC does not say on website description. I don't mind spending more if it is higher quality and going to last a few years longer. DD...

Catcher's mitt - does more expensive actually last longer?

DD (starting 14U) is in need of new Mitt. She is using Vinci JCV-PC that I got from casedawg back in Dec 2015 and she has been very happy with the mitt. I wasn't sure how long a good mitt typically lasts, but for my DD after a little over 2 1/2 years she has worn a hole in the leather on the...

    USSSA Elite Select Futures

DD attended USSSA Elite Select Futures tryout last night. Was wondering if anyone else attended tryout in Clermont FL and what they thought? Have tryouts in other parts of the country been well organized? I was not very impressed with the overall organization of the tryout. Way understaffed...
