Should DD start attending college skills camps, etc? DD is a 2021 grad....at the end of next month there's a skills camp broken into 3 sections (pitching, OF or IF, hitting). One of DD's teammates is going. So, of course DD wants to go to get "exposure". Is it worth it for her age group to go? I can't afford all 3 sessions (travel tournament the following weekend)....but the OF camp is tempting (only 20 girls in that portioncompared to over 40 in every other session). Worth it for her age or start as a freshman or sophomore?

Actually this is a great age to get started and get used to the process. Unless she is lights out do not expect much in the way of interest, but it is a great opportunity to cut her teeth. 
8th grade is perfect - she will get exposure to the skills and experience of college level players, and she will be able to compare her level to the other levels attending. Also great opportunity for her to break the social barrier by actually talking to college players and coaches. That is what helped my DD who got so flustered introducing herself to college coaches face to face. Totally different than emailing/texting/calling them.
DD has always enjoyed camps, not sure she has gotten much out of them though.
