Playing Time and Parent Problems
It sounds like your "team" is somewhat of a hybrid that many here do not understand... Kinda like me, where when you say "rec" or "league" team in my area it is a city sponsored "league" that is normally governed by a regional or national organization with some local rules thrown in OR "travel"...- The Maj

Position when registering for camps
At 2B you are pretty much sacrificing the 3-4 hole with a lefty but I really do not see how a lefty can make the throws against speed at 3B and SS either... I am sure there are plenty of lefty's out there with enough athletic ability to do it at the lower levels but they are going to be a...- The Maj

I know "lefty" is acceptable in Softball as a catcher but are college coaches open to a "lefty" in the middle IF? Guest Players and Playing Time
That might "work" in theory but lets say you are traveling 3 hours to a two or three day tournament and your team normally plays one day tournaments locally with 10 girls and few back to back games... It is hot and you have two pitchers... The coach decides to pick up another pitcher for that...- The Maj

Umpire question - Generally speaking
Already been said but it is the plate umpire's call. I have seen it called by the field ump a couple of times, but in both cases it was so blatantly obvious the player was out of the box when contact was made and the plate umpire missed it... Lol, I have just about seen it all and I have seen some really good one's and some really bad one's.... Give you one where a coach got it from an ump... Travel ball workout and practice routine for DD1 was "make the weekend practices when you can and show up and play these dates"... UCLA vs LSU Obstruction Call
Those two are absolutely horrible and in no way are they experts when it comes to their commentary... I would have gone with a close play and maybe "questionable call" but the way they went on about it was comical... In the umpire's judgement obstruction was the call... Funny but the commentators do not make the calls on the field... I am not saying the umpires were correct in the call and I have rarely if ever seen a game where I have agreed with every single call an umpire ever made...
