Thanks comp, he may have ruled uncatchable. Like you I don't understand the runner and defender doing what their suppose to then no foul. Like you say unless on purpose OB or INTO will never be called.- Phathead

I posted a similar question while back after a travel ball game, then sas similar in lsu and auburn game. Batter pop up bunt looks like going foul, batter towards first, first charging hard and looking up. They collide and ump puts batter back in box. Announcers say incidental. Has travel ball hurt your local rec programs?
Our area rec is pushing the point of collapse. IMO's 1. Travel parents get to pick what they perceive as better fit for their child skills in TB. 2. Apply #1 to coaching. 3. 1 and 2 equals choice. Rec is draft and locked in for season.- Phathead

Unfortunately DD HS coach supports team self policing. Now don't get my wrong I think that is great in most respects until it becomes finger pointing and blame becomes "she, her" which HC never shuts that down. . DD had SS start some "let'em hit, can't afford walks, gotta throw strikes" after...- Phathead

The dark side of recruiting...
DD wants to get into nursing and pretty much why she is giving the game up after her senior year. For her she feels the time commitment for studies and ball would leave her zero time for anything else. I've supported her decesion.- Phathead

50 percent rule
So true that the only time a rule is broken is when caught breaking it. True TB directors don't care. True your school is weaker team and not in conf/district contention you could probably play the whole team and no one would report it. But make it to the conf/district title game in school...- Phathead

Been there dbl chked and resources said fine. Played Sat knowing one wouldn't be there Sun. Had 5 from one school Sat. Had same 4 from that school on Sun and picked one up from that school . So total of 6 from one school but not on same day.- Phathead

Best clueless spouse story
DD teammate dad traveled alot so his wife would txt him during games he couldnt attend. Was funny to my wife setting between us. His DD does something, his wife would txt him. Few seconds later my phone buzzes with her husband texting me wanting explanation of her txt. "Hit? E?" Etc. my favorite...- Phathead

Frustration with lack of JV games
I'll pose a different view. DD going into senior season. V all the way. Yr 1 enough pitching to have JV but like other posts games fewer in qty and quality. Yrs 2 and 3 only 2 pitchers (really only 1 and 1/2). Those 2 yrs and upcoming yr they would be better off skipping a JV team. My...- Phathead

Is HE a money grab?
I call it regurgitation of what they heard but don't understand. DD has IR coach. HS tries to get her throwing HE. DD comes home laughing "she teach he but throws bp using ir".- Phathead

Should this be an appeal, only?
Don't think I've ever seen this mishandled. Worst case was count questioned ump asked ump , went to home team bench who wasn't keeping book so back to umps count defined play ball.- Phathead

Being trown out of game
Never got tossed, warned justly once. Here is my take on on it. I caught all my playing days so I had front row seat to many coach vs ump augments.
