    Riseball trajectories

Sorry if this has been covered before. I've been away for a while. Does this paper on pitch trajectories suggest that a perfectly thrown riseball can actually still be rising when crossing home plate? If I understand the tables and graphs, the suggestion seems to be that the ball would still be...

    Colorado tournaments

That was what I thought. My daughter has played IDT the last few years. I want to say however that this year the 16U teams didn't seem quite as strong. Some of the really strong teams we played against last year seemed to be over in the Fireworks power pool this year.

    Colorado tournaments

Are IDT and Fireworks power pool considered pretty similar, or is one considered more competitive than the other?

    High School Endings 2017

We had a tough year for HS as a freshman. But in final game we beat 1st place team 5-3. Daughter went 4-4 with HR final AB and scored 4 runs.

Swingin' for the Fence...Horse Power Fastpitch

Unfortunately weak grounders, just making contact, translates to success at the younger levels, and some coaches therefore join the ground balls camp. As you point out, this isn't perhaps the best plan for every player. How many players do you see at say age 14 or 15, who could have been good...

Lag ... and how it pertains to the swing.

Just stopped Teacherman vid after 1:15. He claims you have to be uncoiling right as the foot lifts up. I don't believe that's what is happening. Looking at swings of Cabrera and others that are typically posted. The demo Teacherman does does not look the same as high level swings in this regard.

    Bat throwing

People get so wound up about this. Don't know that I've ever read about, seen, or heard about an actual incident where a thrown bat hurt someone in a youth game. I'm sure it has happened.... There is no rule against throwing bats in most rulebooks, correct? If the bat interferes with a play...

    ODM On Deck Measurements

Following up: it was a good experience for daughter, first camp. Her numbers stood out I thought. In 7 of 11 categories she was top 12, and in sprints and quickness at or near top. About 100 kids. In high school she is top 5 in all offensive categories as a freshmen except RBI as a leadoff...

    Paticience at the plate

I think front toss is good. If you have whiffles or those small yellow "whiffles" I am guessing she like 97% of everyone else will pull whiffles if you just go out and throw her some. Challenge her to drive whiffles super hard and as far to the opposite field as she can. Try it yourself, it's...

    Choosing correct bat weight?

Tough to say as every hitter is different. There are no rules really given height and weight of person. It's really swing the heaviest bat you can successfully I think. I am on the side of using heavier bats. If your DD can rake embrace the weight. Of course the trick is to not go overboard...

    Bat Jack: soft or hard?

Do you or anyone have opinions on Prohitter versus Bat Jack? And BTW is the Bat Jack still sold?

    Going from 22 to 23oz

Yeah the Indian runs out of arrows after shooting enough. The Demarini she has has given up the ghost, so it's time to get a new arrow.
