College players using Xeno over Meta and LXT

Perhaps. I for one, have always assumed that a break in period (3-4 buckets of BP balls) prior to using a bat in a game, was a good practice regardless of the “hot out of the wrapper” claims. Re. bat design though, my feel is that manufacturers are taking their designs closer to the failure...

College players using Xeno over Meta and LXT

Interesting. Anecdotally, based on my own family experience, we’ve been hitting Easton and Miken composite bats, both fastpitch and slow pitch for upwards of 20 years, and never had one crack or otherwise fail internally until this META. I buy new bats owing to my old bats going dead. Just seams...

Did the Zeno production also get moved to the PRC? The META (and the Easton Ghost for that matter) are manufactured there, and there are clearly some production control issues with those, based on failure rates that I’ve heard from retailers as well as previous posts here.

    Dinger Exit Velocity

Interesting. I wonder though if the use of composite bats with their higher compression and the inherent trampoline effect, changes that number for fastpitch vs wood baseball bats?

    Dinger Exit Velocity

I have to admit, that seems a bit counterintuitive in respect of the whole energy in, energy out concept. I would have thought that higher pitch speed would lead to more bat compression up to the limit of that attribute (i.e. bat probably doesn’t compress more for a 70 mph than a 75 mph pitch...

College players using Xeno over Meta and LXT

Thanks for that info. Yep, we’re in full seasonal hockey mode up here so softball inventory is pretty thin in most stores at this time of year. Because it was an internal failure and there wasn’t any visible external defect, I think they just wanted to run it through the manufacturer rep to make...

Free to take back to vendor and have them deal with their supplier rep. Would have had to pay for shipping back to US if I’d gone directly back to Wilson. Didn’t want to pay for their defect.

    Dinger Exit Velocity

I know that a lot of factors like launch angle play into It, but in general/WAG terms, what kind of exit velo should you be looking for, to clear a 5’ fence at 200’-230’?

Daughter plays varsity ball and has always preferred LS bats. She uses both a Xeno and an LXT, depending on pitcher speed for a given at-bat. Loves both, but hits xeno more for power than contact. We got her a Meta midway through 2022 season but she almost immediately said something didn’t feel...

    Greetings from snowy Canada

A gift from us to you. Ski lessons to work on those quick lateral movements on the infield, and some shoveling to work on your glutes, lats and shoulder turns for increased bat speed. Don’t say we never get you anything 🤪😇.

Glad to join the discussion board. Lots of great info posted here. I’m currently looking longingly out my window at the snow, counting down the days/months until my daughter and I can get back out on the diamonds to smack some balls around. Come on spring!!!🥶😋
