I actually stream games live with USTREAM with my phone and get good quality recordings and use them in Coach's Eye. It doesn't sound like he does entire games but can do those as well. Excellent quality without spending the money. Nothing wrong with GoPro, just an additional cost without that...
With Coach's Eye you won't have to worry about all the detailed frame rates and crap you don't even know means. Other good suggestion is good lighting.

Down load and use Coach's Eye. There is a free version. If you need collaboration with a coach, then subscribe and have your coach get on it to get remote instruction. Works with most all video formats. I just use my phone for video and you can see very detailed slo-mo and even draw on it. I use...
The nice thing, you can take what you like from our perspectives and throw away the rest. Here is mine, and it comes from 50 years of catching experience. I have also raised two catchers, one to the college level and a current freshman in high school. Here is what I think and it begins with her...

I commend you for taking the opportunities to have pitchers and catchers sitting next to you and learning. I have a strong opinion about coaches calling pitches without ever teaching catchers how to call their own game. When attending an OnDeck tryout, Derek Allister asked if my daughter could...
There was a team locally that won 3 state championships because they were the smartest team, not the best athletes. However, over time their skills have caught up to their game IQ. Your coach is on the right track IMO.

I think YOCOACH and I see things very similar. There are 6 critical skills I use to rate catchers. Times are relative to age. These are not in order of importance:
1. Blocking - technique and attitude towards blocking. Ability to keep ball in front and close for opportunities to knee throw down...
What I mean is that I can't afford tons of private coaching either. But, I have found coaches with the knowledge to include it in their normal practices. I don't buy into parents can't afford there son/daughter to be successful. Winners find ways to succeed. Once again, success isn't for...
Then that team coach should commit to that 20% as well. I am sorry, but I don't buy into that sort of thinking. But, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Success is not for everybody. CoachJD, does that mean you are a coach?

Thank you for this. It's only when they make no sense at all, I hate to listen. Man, woman, baseball, softball, black, white, asian, who cares. Just keep us loving the game with exciting commentation. Talk the game, strategies, put out some controversial subjects and ask for input. Engage us in...
