    how to slide

    We have a mat out in the grass with a base at the end. It is a sheet that you would hang in a shower so it is pretty slick. The girls have to take their cleats off but they seem more willing to slide with it.

    Tax Deductible?

    probably depends on if the team/association is a registered non-profit and if you are buying something for the team (ie equipment) rather than something for a player. I would love to be able to get tax deduction for all of my daughter's gear.

    Drills to get them to feel the proper use of lower half

    I would like to hear some of these as well. The only thing I have used is to place the bat against their hips and hit the ball off a tee which forces them to rotate their hips. Too many girls still swing with just their arms.

    That is what I do with the pitch counts, keep strike/ball ratios and also average pitches per batter faced. I like druer's thought of using the stats that are emphasized throughout the season.
