Kicking will work if the pitch is not outside.
If the pitch is outside and your kicking, you better be one hell of an athlete.
Too much emphasis on back foot going heel up will not be effective. IMO.
There are some differences in the foot work in the inside/outside...

From this angle I would say she is too upright at contact. She has no lean or as Hitter says, bend at the waist and soften the knees.
It sounds as though she hitting screamers.

You wouldn't swing at a pitchers pitch the "kissed" the corner of the plate. Unless of course there were 2 strikes.
