When I'm on first, I keep my GoPro remote in my pocket....pretty sure I'm not supposed to in any sanction. But it's small and looks a bit like a count clicker.

You are correct....you're not allowed to use such a device.
So because you feel it looks like a ball & strike indicator you feel can get away with violating a rule?

No, not at all. I think it has more to do with the fact that I have never given it a second thought. There are many rules that I'm sure I'm unaware of. However, when called out on them, I'm generally compliant.
