So my daughter has been diagnosed with "Throwers Shoulder "We live in northern Vermont and not many shoulder specialist around. The Dr.recommened finding a shoulder therapist that deals with just the shoulders so that the therapy is focused on the muscles that need strengthened..I'm a little confused and frustrated at the same time.Has anyone had to deal with this?If so do you have any recommendations? This is absolutely killing my daughter not being able to pitch..Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!Thanks Eric<br />

I believe that Thrower's Shoulder, like Little League Elbow is a non-specific diagnosis that might have a number of different causes - some that can be fixed with rest and physical therapy and, on the extreme end, some that might require surgery (e.g. rotator cuff tear). I think it is worth the effort find a good shoulder specialist to determine the exact problem and then treat the problem. I say this because my daughter was diagnosed with "Little League Elbow" when she was 11 or 12 but the root cause was never diagnosed. I now think it was a indicator of a more serious problem we are now dealing with.

You've been to doctor, and the doctor told you to see a specialist. You should do what a health pro told you to do.
