Eyes.

Should a pitchers eyes (focus) 1) find the pitch location "target" around the strike zone 2) focus on a location to land there stride foot on the power line (or just to the left or right for inside or outside) 3) then focus on the original "target" as she begins her pitch?

Thanks for feed back.

DD puts a mark in the dirt about where she should land; she used to mark the entire power line in the dirt but just does a spot now. The only time she looks at it is after the pitch, if something did not feel right otherwise she ignores it. During games she thinks about driving off the plate, not where exactly she is landing, that is the result of driving of the plate.

Edit to add: I would think the way you described would be OK to, just a matter of P preference. Nothing is happening until she starts her pitch so she can look at what she wants, close her eyes, whatever until she is ready to begin her pitch.
