Another newbie assistant 12U TB coach here so please forgive the ignorance! We just started our team a few months ago and have yet to win a game (0-9). Uggghhh..! However, we are working hard on mechanics and are seeing improvement each game so there is light at the end of the tunnel. Back to the question though, we are struggling with signs too and the girls are very confused most of the time but too embarassed to let anyone know. We saw a team with the armbands for the first time last weekend and I thought this was a great idea. How does it work? Do you just hold up a number to the batter/runner? Also, where do you get them?

You would find the arm bands in the football section of your sports store or on-line. Most likely you have 5-9 different 'sings' but each one could be on the arm band 3-4 times each one #'d or the rows are numbered and then the 'sign' numbered. You give the player 2 #'s - first gives the row - second the sign.

Have seen these and thought about using especially for defensive signs.
