Routine ground ball to 6F, force attempted @ 2B, 6-4. 4F pulled her foot off the base before she received the ball. Should this be ruled base hit or E4?

I'd have to say that if there is no put out, there can be no assist; however, a pitcher does get credit for a K on an uncaught third strike when the runner reaches first safely.

F6 gets the assist according to ASA, NFCA's ATEC, NFHS, MLB and NCAA baseball. NCAA softball requires an out be recorded.
