Receiving with glove starting in the dirt

This is how my daughter does it. Helps with low pitches, working from down to up into the strike zone. Does not have any issues at all with high pitches or anything else for that matter because of it. Georgia Tech’s, Dukes, and LSU catchers all do it like that as well.

Is this way of receiving related to the one knee down style or are they totally separate?
