The clinic will be taught by Rachel Folden, the
2011 National Pro Fastpitch Offensive Player of the Year, and take place at
Westmont High School on Tuesday, November 12th from 7:30pm – 9:30pm.



A former Marshall University and Chicago Bandits
player and a 2012 all-NPF selection, Folden will teach all aspects of the game
to girls ages 10 to 18.


The cost is $50 for Westmont Park District
residents and $65 for non-residents. The clinic is limited to 45 players. Some

Rachel's Bio



A little bit about Rachel Folden:



Rachel Folden is a former professional softball player for
the Carolina Diamonds in the NPF (National Pro Fastpitch). Folden recently retired after the 2012
season, after 5 years in the NPF. Folden played for two professional teams, the
Diamonds in 2012, and the Chicago Bandits from 2008-2012. She finished her career ranked 2nd all-time
in NPF history in home runs (41), 3rd in RBI (122), 6th in walks (101), and
T-8th in doubles (28).



In 2012, Folden's final season, she finished 2nd in the NPF
in batting average (.389), the league
leader in walks (25), on base percentage (.507), slugging percentage (.630),
and OPS (1.137), 5th in the league in hits (42), 3rd in home runs (8), and 8th
in the league in RBI (25). Folden also
finished 2nd in overall MVP voting, as well as 2nd in voting for Offensive
Player of the Year.




Prior to her stint at Carolina, Folden played for the
Chicago Bandits for 4 seasons, where she was a 3-time All-NPF catcher, 2008 Rookie
of the Year, 2011 Offensive Player of the Year, and 2011 Home Run Champion
(league leader in home runs). Folden
also won 2 NPF championships with the Bandits in 2008 and 2011.

Folden was drafted out of Marshall University in Huntington,
WV. At Marshall, Folden was a 4-time
NFCA Division I All-American, the 2005 MAC Freshman of the Year, a 2-time
Conference USA Player of the Year, and a 4-time NFCA All-Region Performer. Folden currently holds Marshall career records
in batting average (.405), hits (266), home runs (58), RBI (196), total bases
(505), and walks (143). She is also 2nd
all-time at MU in runs scored (169), and doubles (63). She is also the career leader in C-USA in
batting average (.405) and slugging percentage (.811).



Recently, Folden was an Assistant Coach in charge of
pitching, catching, and outfield at Valparaiso University in Valparaiso,
IN. While at Valpo, she helped the team
to its best season in program history, Valpo had numerous all-conference
performers and one of the lowest ERA's in team history in Folden's two years of
tenure.



Prior to coaching at Valparaiso, Folden was a graduate
assistant coach at Holy Names University in Oakland, CA. In her one year at HNU, Folden helped the
team to a Cal-Pac championship in only its second year of existence. HNU also
had the Cal-Pac Pitcher of the Year, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year,
and Coaching Staff of the Year during Folden's tenure.

Thanks,this might not be for my DD but I have another couple players in mind that I will contact and let them know this is going on.

To anyone that wants their dd to improve on Hitting and catching fundamentals do not let this chance pass by to learn from one of the best. Rachel is not only in my opinion one of the top 20 to ever play the game she is a class act off the field. Get in soon before it fills up.

Thank you Tim! I saw your DD this weekend. I attended the UofL practice on Friday, and took in their games on Saturday and Sunday! I'm always trying to improve my coaching ability/knowledge as well. She is with 2 of the best down there with Coach P and Coach B! She hit the ball extremely well, and will be an impact player for them this year!

Will do! My wife is an Alum from U of L and my in-laws still live there, so we are there a lot! Thanks again for speaking highly of Rachel! It's filling up fast!
