Is there a max number of hours a college player and/or team can practice per week? If so, does this also vary depending on each division?
Are you specifically talking about "practice" or are you looking for all athletically related activities (e.g. conditioning, strength training)? The limits generally only apply to required activities, however there is often pressure to attend the "voluntary" ones too.Is there a max number of hours a college player and/or team can practice per week? It does vary by division and also by time of the year. For softball, the playing season is a combination of the fall non-championship segment and the spring championship segment. The rest of the year is outside the playing season and the limits are lower (e.g. 8 hours with max 2 hours on skill-related).
D-I's fall segment is the longest, D-II is 24 activity days out of 45 and D-III is 16 out of 35.
