I did not read Richard’s Ready At Release thread.
I’m guessing that it has to do with being “ready to hit”. I’m nearing the end of my softball journey. Got around 5 years of watching college softball in person now. I can’t tell you how often I see players from age 9 to senior in college yanking their hands back at/after the pitcher releases the ball. You can talk all the gobbledygook nonsense you want (see every thread in the tech hitting section of DFP) but if a kid ain’t ready to hit when the ball is thrown, well luck be with her. Congrats to the pitcher because she already has the advantage. Fix. It. Now. It will never get better!!!!
