Pelvic protector

My DD is a catcher, she went to block a wild pitch and got hit in a sensitive area. Do female catchers usually wear these? Am I that dumb? What is a good one to get?

My daughter is a pitcher and wears one after taking a rocket of a line drive straight back to the pubic bone last fall. You can get the Shock Doctor power sliding shorts and they have a little pocket that the pelvic protector slides into. If she's wearing sliding shorts anyway, it's nice to have the extra protection.
