OH middle school no contact rule

do middle school softball teams / players fall under the OHSAA no contact with travel teams during the season rules? A few girls on dd's 12 u team have joined a start up MS team. As I read the rules they do. they are playing/ practicing both at one time and intend to continue. My concern is that if penalized as 8th graders they would be ineligible as freshman. this is all innocent and I think they are unaware of the rules. But wondered what you all think?

5th bullet point down on the first page on the right side. It seems 7th and 8th graders not playing varsity ball are still under ohsaa. It's different in many states. Anyway...

What exactly is this start-up middle school team? Is this a school-sponsored team or a club team?
