Like I’ve said, people like pics!
Ripped the tags & keychain off, and pulled the wrist closure lace out late last night, re-laced the wrist to the smallest setting. This glove has been sitting in an odd position for awhile, shaped weird, going to take some beating and rudeness to fix that, no problem though.
Couple of points, this 12.25” glove is HUGE, the entire glove is one gigantic, deep pocket! It swallows a 12” ball, but unlike past RV23’s the hand stall is reasonable, fits my thick medium sized hands pretty good. As I said I did change the wrist closure to the tighter setting. This glove will work equally well TIP or Traditional, the RV is known for having a huge palm and shorter fingers, the majority of guys who use this glove wear it TIP.
The build construction, fit and finish, stitching, welting, Horween tan color, and smell are all Don Morton exclusive super high quality!
The laces suck, I think Rawlings is now using Vinci’s lace supplier, terrible! It’s really disappointing, but hey I’ve finally gave up on lace!
For anyone who doesn’t know, the RV23 was made famous by Robin Ventura #23, and Arod, two guys who used pretty big gloves at the hot spot! It’s a really odd, quirky pattern that you either love or hate! I stated here many times, I think it’s the coolest web that’s ever been put on a ball glove!
Couple of pics with my old pinky patch RV23, which BTW is considerably smaller, in fact these two don’t even feel like the same pattern….to me. And oh yeah, no stupid MLB logo!!
