I grew up watching men's fastpitch. I played with girls but couldn't stay away from the men's games. 20 years ago the men's league here was huge. Last year 8 teams and this year only 5. From what I hear it's pitching or lack there of. Sad really.
While I would love to see increased exposure for the men's fastpitch game, I have to admit that I am one of those who had no clue about fastpitch softball until my DD started playing. I have played in several slowpitch leagues (REC) but we were more interested in beers after the game than we were in winning. Are men's FP leagues a bunch of former baseball players? I guess every position could transition between sports other than pitcher. Is men's FP more popular than adult baseball? Maybe we can get some bucket dads to fill the void, or make the games coed and find some women who want to play!
