I am considering having this type of therapy and was wondering if anyone has had it? and what the results were? It is called A.R.T. Active Release Techniques it is done either by a physical therphist or a chiropractor. Would like to hear from you if you know anything about this procedure. Thank you:)

Went to a chiro that advertised A.R.T. for my back....it was massage and stretching...stuff anyone with common sense could have thought of, except $50 a session.

Thank you and after discussing this with her orthopedic doctor, he explained to me that in my dd case (shoulder instability) this procedure would be a waste of money ($60 per session) We will continue pt until injury is completely healed.. almost there :) but I did hear this technique was used by a lot of professional athletes for tight muscles..

I'd HIGHLY recommend getting a MRI or a dye test MRI. My DD's diagnosis was shoulder instability by her orthopedic. We wasted a month of physical therapy as the pain was getting worse. I finally TOLD the doctor to order the dye test, it was a very small tear in the rotator cuff ligament. We went to a specialist 3 hours away for injections using Prolotherapy. That really sped up the healing, then after the tear healed..............back to physical therapy.

She has had 2 MRI 1 with the dye test- no tears, shoulder instability is an injury with no quick fix, at least in our case. She missed 1/2 TB season and shut down all other sports through out this school year. This coming season we hope to be back BETTER and STRONGER than ever!!!

Glad you had the tests. I know it sucks big time missing out on watching our DD's play due to injuries.

Best of luck on her recovery.
