I thought I‘ve been buying LH bats from him!
A little know fact is that all bats can be left handed also. You just need to rotate it 180 degrees and presto!
Except the axe handled bats, right?
I do regrip them so the pattern on the Lizard Skin goes the correct way.

Yeah I ain’t buying two bats for my SH son so the grip goes the right way…
If you've got a big hand, don't buy a fastpitch anything. My hand isn't particularly big and I'd have to jam it into DD's full-sized fastpitch gloves. I've caught warmup and infield with 17-18yos who could bring it using nothing more than a Wilson SP fielder's glove. Never had a problem. That said, the universe for men's LH 1B Mitts for both softball and baseball is vast. Unless your kid is approaching the top-end speed of college throwers, that will do nicely. If your hand hurts, get a padded glove to wear underneath.

Right now (he's 8) I just have him alternate what hand he hits every AB. Not many sliders in 9U/10UI would bet he hits more from the left side of the plate, right? Maybe you're doing it wrong.
