Situation: Bases loaded - 0 outs. Ground ball hit to 2b- R1 runs into fielder. Ump calls runner out for intereference. Is runner on 3rd allowed to score or return to base?

Ump ruled that the run is allowed

If somehow the runner from 3rd had touched home prior to the interference, then yes the run would score. Otherwise all runners are returned to the last base touched at the time of the interference.

That is what I thought. Would the ruling be different if the batted ball actually hit the runner just before the runner collided with the fielder. The ump kept saying it was a "delayed dead ball"

Interference is never a delayed dead ball, well with only one exception and that is when the plate umpire interferes with a catcher throwing the ball.
