DD had first varsity home game yesterday. Scattered 6 hits over almost 7 total innings (other pitcher pitched to 2 batters in the 6th, then she re-entered). Lost 3-2, but it was a very good game. There were 5 players on the other team she has played with, that play with her TB organization, including one of her TB team mates, so that was tough. The team mate had the only extra base hit for the other team (faced each other probably 100 times in practice!). My DD went 2-3 at the plate, including our only extra base hit, a double.
Pretty darn good start for a freshman at the Oregon large school classification.....oh, and our starting catcher is ALSO a freshman, they are the only two on the team. That little sparkplug threw out 2 of the fastest kids around trying to steal 2nd base on her. Big confidence booster when that happens! She's looking up at the 5 foot mark, and has to jump up and down on the scale to make it read 100 lbs.
