DD was involved in a car accident in June and has had persistent but improving upper back/shoulder pain. She has been seeing a chiropractor but we decided to get a second opinion from a spine and sports medicine MD. MRI shows minor disc protrusion in T7-T-9. He is sending DD to a physical therapist and mentioned the possibility of steroid injections. If that is ultimately recommended will corticosteroid injections effect NCAA eligibility?

My daughter had those shots into her SI joint just out of HS. To date (sophomore year) there has been no finding or questioning.

(not necessarily an answer but at least a data point)

Corticosteroids fight inflammation and in the body. An anabolic steroid is basically man-made testosterone that helps produce muscle. I would imagine that corticosteroids for use due to an injury is allowed by the NCAA.
