Pitching machines should be banned from all baseball and softball diamonds unless it's exclusively used for batting practice. Get these kids pitching early and often. Have mandatory pitching clinics and spend a little time with these kids on pitching mechanics. Mix in kid pitch with coach pitch at 8u. Well worth the little extra effort on the leagues part. Pitching is a huge part of fastpitch and yet we spend so little time coaching it at the younger age groups.
