I recently had an umpire instruct my catcher she was too far over in the catcher's box. We were trying to intentionally walk a batter and she was positioned all the way over in the catcher's box. Is the catcher not allowed to be anywhere within the box? This is USSSA and I looked but I couldn't find anything that said this was illegal. TIA

From USSSA 2015 Fastpitch rule book:

Sec 2. CATCHER and DEFENSIVE POSITIONING
A. A catcher shall be inside the lines of the catcher’s box and all other
defensive players positioned in fair territory when the pitcher takes their
position to pitch and when the pitch is released.

That is all I could find too. He said they had to stay between the batter's boxes.

He is partially correct, you stay between the batter's box.........the outside lines of the batter's box.

But not a problem. Tell you catcher to stand where you want her (but still within the catcher's box), let the umpire make an incorrect ruling and immediately protest the game.
