Hey All- I have coached middle & High school girls for 7 Years. Most of the girls also play for me during the summer. We have decided to form a travel team and enter the remainer of the year into a couple of tournments. Can someone please explain to me the difference between the "HS" ( High School ) and 18u brackets?. I do understand there maybe some teams that have girls in high school and younger in both brackets. The team observed a tournment this weekend that was 81u with a sophomore in college that pitched. What is the age cap on the HS bracket?

I don't know of a sanction with a "HS" division. What did the tourney rules say?

Some do not allow college players in some/all of their 18U classifications (e.g. ASA, PGF).

I never heard of a HS bracket--perhaps it means that only HS students a eligible to play???
18U means the girl is 18 on January 1rst.
Which means that an 18U team can have a full squad of 19 year old college students on their squad as long as they were 18 on the first of January.

HS bracket is 16-18u combined. It is the box of chocolates for age groups because you never know what your gonna get. 18U Gold getting ready for a big weekend, to 14U playing up, to a 16C rec team getting ready for All-Stars. If there are enough teams they will split into a "gold" and "silver" bracket for Sunday.
