not trying to get doug in trouble here, he has been a great help to my dds, just want her to get that second H because it will help her. she knows her foot shoots out but changing has been difficult.

Colin, I think I would stress with her to make sure to focus on an explosive THRUST with that right leg as soon as she gets into the GO point of that first "h." If she did that alone, with the same kick-out she has, she'll show a bit more of that second "h." Go back and again see how explosive Ueno's right leg thrust is. Oy..... I think that's what my buddy Ken B was saying all along. However, if she does get that thrust more explosive and it looks like she's still kicking out prematurely, I would then point it out and focus more on kicking that knee out rather than the foot (and work on the foot-kick-out as more something to help the reach of the drive as the thrust reaches it's end).

Java has mentioned many times before that a pitcher should generate a sense of falling forward. We want the left leg to spring forward, but I think too many pitchers get the idea they need to spring that left foot out quickly to catch themselves due to the sense of falling forward. So I think in getting into the initial forward-leaning "h" they don't focus enough on the main reason they are getting to that point--to THRUST EXPLOSIVELY. As I understand Java, the left leg will be loaded, if they aren't heavy on their heel, and will naturally pop forward as one thrusts explosively. THEN, when the thrust reaches it's end, putting concerted effort into kicking forward with the left foot to extend what the thrust can no longer do is a major focus, not before.

She gets into a great forward leaning (first) "h." I just think she could focus more on thrusting explosively once she hits the deepest point of her first "h."

Now I wonder what we can use the different letters of the alphabet for to add to the confusion. The "h" is just descriptive of what we see.

Clearly, I'm off my meds. LOL!
