Has anyone had this problem? My daughter has been having tightness in her shoulder. She has gone to two orthopedics that deal with sports medicine. After an MRI each has said there was no damage to her arm and recommended exercises. She has done the exercises religiously but she still has soreness. If she is throwing from the K position she has all kinds of velocity and no soreness, but when she goes to a full windup at the very top she experiences the pain and can't throw with velocity. She has rested done exercises and also stopped pitching. Any recommendations.

Sounds like you have done all the right things.

I would make sure her arm circle is a circle, not pitching might be the right anwser though. 8 other positions.

Sorry one 1 thing, I have seen some really good sling shot pitchers. Not going to play college at a high level but can hold thier own.

This is probably not going to be the most popular response, but, try to find a good chiropractor who works soft tissue too. My daughters shoulder was hurting and he said she was just slightly off. He straightened it out and she has been good.

My dd does great sling shot, fast and loose. Full pitch she tries muscle the crap out of it. (slow and tight) She will get sore when muscling it for lots of reasons. ...just a thought! Hope its nothing serious! Keep searching!

Hello Elbow or I/R?
HE style will put a ton of stress on the scap due to an overemphasis on the arm rather than a resisted transfer of energy. Possibly a growth plate issue as well.
Regardless, an orthopedist will need to make this call...

I would also highly suggest a good chiropractor with a reputation for working with athletes. I was very skeptical of the field prior to my own, then my daughter's (a pitcher) experience with them. This type of issue can sometimes be nerve related and would not always show up as an "injury" in an MRI. Certainly worth a try since it is a completely non-invasive therapy with virtually no downside even if it doesn't work.

You should have someone evaluate her motion. Sounds like impingement. Having an injury is one field of expertise... preventing injury is another. Sounds like she is in the latter. Post some video of her full pitch.
