Talking about how difficult something is constantly is actually the very definition of negativity. You posted three times and in each post mentioned something to the effect of how hard this was and how the chances of success was slim. One post like this is realistic with a negative spin, the second is pure negativity, the third time it smacks of someone who genuinely does not want others to succeed.
I wonder if we scared off the OP :-(
So, the short answer is:
Is 14 too late? NO
Will it be a ton of work? YES
Is success guaranteed? NO
Is success possible? YES, but it may take a few years.
Is it worth it? ONLY IF YOU ENJOY IT. There will be tons of frustrations, but there is something satisfying about being the cause of the strikeout, rather than the victim.
What about the wrist snap? ASK YOUR PITCHING COACH
