Left foot and right foot placement in relation to the plate and power line? Beginning point and ending point.

What does your DD do? What does your PC teach?

OK, lets hear it.

There is no one move that fits everyone. I personally start with a transfer/slide of the pivot to train how the push begins with back then forth motion. Explained here.

I like the feet split as far apart as comfortable (for age and/or size) so pitchers can utilize the plate width for location starting points. With most pitches sliding the pivot foot to the center, but keeping the ability to create greater angles with less or more slide.........

IMO, there is so much more transfer/momentum/running start when you release the pivot foot anchor point during the shift back.........

Monica Abbott is my favorite example of this style.

I have a question about how it's used to improve angles: couldn't the push point become a tell? Last year I saw a pitcher who used different locations on the plate depending on the pitch. After the first inning, the other team was able to pick a couple of her pitches and started hitting her to the point of getting pulled pretty early. She was supposed to have been one of her conference's better pitchers (NAIA I,) but was on the bench after a couple innings.

Monica is another great example of release the anchor of the pivot foot to enhance transfer..........

As far as picking pitches from the sliding pivot foot.........I would offer one observation. If this pitcher ONLY slid on a particular pitch, that would be an obvious tell.........BUT.........If she slid on EVERY pitch, IE Abbot/Fernandez and many others........There is no way hitters would pick inches left/right of center on the plate.........

Even Osterman releases her pivot foot during the transfer back......Not much........But it's there..........Watch her pivot foot carefully in this clip. She steps up, spread, weight on the pivot leg.........Then rocks back and slides the pivot foot toward the middle before the forward move.........

Another example:

And another who is so used to it she does it without a plate.......

This is something I've taught for ever.......Release the pivot foot anchor during the transfer......

Some like it big........Some like it small.........Some not at all.........Problem is we don't see a lot of the initial transfer in clips. They are often cut to start at the forward push..........

Watch Fowlers Heal closely in this clip:

Need to be careful in instructing this, I imagine.

2 of your three examples look like a legitimate "slide" where neither foot breaks contact with the pitcher's plate.

But this last one, is a pretty obvious re-plant, in my view.

Not to say it's not a legitimate technique, but to say that if instructing this, one needs to be wary of an illegal motion developing and correct often and early to prevent that.

I also think that employing this technique will cause the pivot foot to angle outward more often than not?
I know that you have stated in the past that you prefer a slight outward tilt of the pivot foot, and I'm not going to disagree - if it's slight. But aside from a re-plant, I'd be watching for, and correcting a pivot foot straying too far askew from the power line, also.
