DD is working on her hitting and with the improvement, it's very apparent that I can no longer safely pitch to her without a screen. We have limited access to a field with a large screen, but it would be nice to have something portable. I've wanted a Bownet and was thinking that style might work, but recently saw a coach using one for BP and it looked pretty sketchy. This one seems to be priced reasonably, but I wonder about it's durability: http://www.anthem-sports.com/Louisville-Pitching-Screen_p_239

Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Ken

I just use the big mouth BowNet, Ken. My rotator cuffs are shot and I can't throw fast anymore so I have to move about 15 feet from her. It's not the perfect design, but it's saved my mug (and other body parts) quite a few times.

We use the Bownet Soft Toss net and it is fantastic. It is absolutely wonderful - it is sturdy and I don't even have to use weights to keep it up when balls hit it. Love it and highly recommend it.

Thanks all! Amazon has an option to buy the sock-style PowerNet along with the I-Screen for $130! Thanks for the tip Eric!

I have this:

Softball A-Screen Portable Pitching Screen - Morrow Sports LLC

I got it for $199. It is not as easily portable as a Bow-Net but so far seems to be bomb proof. I don't bring it to tournaments, but I do bring it to practice when we are not at our regular field. Takes about 3 minutes to setup and take down. It is a bit heavier (32 pounds) and larger than the Bow-Net, but packs up into a 48" bag. Of course I drive a truck so that is not an issue for me.

Standing 20' in front of a hitter, this is screen I want in front of me.

We've been using an Easton Pop up fastpitch screen for the last 3 years and I highly recommend it. Takes 2-3 minutes to set up & pack up- way easier than some nets.
Easton Pop-Up Fastpitch Pitcher's Screen 7x6

Very portable, very secure. Had many many line drives come straight at it with no problem- it's been taking a beating for years and isnt warped at all. Very versatile since you can change sides to stand. Can be used for hand toss or machine. Almost no storage space compared to other portable nets too.
