My DD is an '03 and played up with a second year 14u team last year. Physically it was the right choice for her, emotionally and socially it was ok, mostly because it is a great group of girls. Dealing with the team going dark for the high school season was probably the biggest frustration. Now they are playing 16u and have faced a number of 18u teams. Being 13 and facing pitchers who are 4-5 years older has been an eye opener for her.

By chance, have you asked her which direction she would like to go? I have made alot of decisions for my DD regarding her softball career and more than a few have gone horribly wrong. I know its not always the parental thing to do but consider her opinion in the matter as well. Include her in the decision making process. Just my 2¢.... I hope all goes well and wish you a successful spring season.
