    Ringor

Dd's first pair of Ringor dynasties lasted 2 years. Now she has bandits for metal, the all leather heavier ones for plastics, and a pair of turf shoes. We went to the warehouse and got 3 pair for $200. 9 months or so later and they're all in great shape despite the fact that she's a pitcher. We...

    Pitching Mask and College

If a kid has their face crushed while they are trying to be recruited they'll likely have less success in their pursuit than someone wearing a mask. My kid has been hit in the face and has no desire to go through that again. She chooses to always wear a mask on the infield now. Her cheek bone...

how has your pitching journey been?

DD's first pitching coach tried to get her to switch to HE so we've battled that a lot. She had another try to convert her later, but we knew better and she didn't switch. For a while dd's circle went behind her head and she was falling off to the side. She had some college girls help her work...

How many is to many ?

Dd's 16u team had 15 and it was a lot. It wouldn't have been so bad if the coaches hadn't felt the need to have 15 at every tournament. If a girl was injured or couldn't make it they'd pull girls from the 18u team that were 16 eligible. It would have been better to play with 12 when 12 could...

    Protective gear for pitchers

My daughter was knocked to the ground, had her cheekbone flattened, and fractured her sinus because she refused to wear her mask. Now she won't step on the infield for a game or practice without her mask. I'm thinking of getting her an evoshield as well as an elbow guard for batting for the...

No work/ FRIDAY CHECK IN 7-9-15

Dd is picking up with a team for 14u ASA state. She's played 16u the past 2 years (not for a lack of trying to play her 14u) so it should be interesting. I'm excited for her to play with girls her age. I just wish I could be at the tournament rather than at work!

How to Fix Pitcher Leaning Back

Thanks Ken! I'll check that out. I will have to get some video of her from different angles. I have some older footage, but I need some current.

How to Fix Pitcher Leaning Back

Thanks all! Lsjames, I was concerned about the lean costing her speed. She's 5'5 so she has to work to manufacture as much speed as she can. If it's not taking from her speed then I won't worry about it. The swimming she does more sometimes than others. Her consistency has improved so much...

How to Fix Pitcher Leaning Back

My 14 year old dd tends to lean back/to the side when pitching. Does anyone have good drills or tips to help? I know she likely has other issues too, we've just been trying to fix this forever. I'll take any other tips too. It's just a warm up pitch in a game through the chain link. She doesn't...

Another young pitcher hurt by a ball

My dd now wears a mask if she plays infield after taking a line drive to the face that knocked her to the ground. She was 13 playing against an 18u team. She was really lucky that the ball just flattened her cheek bone some and fractured her sinus. We had the option of surgery but opted against...

    12U Slapping

My dd hits left, but she hits left all the time. She's 14 and working on being a triple threat. My dd's best slapping instruction has come from college slappers. My dd can't hit right even though she's right handed; she switched herself very early into playing. One thing, slappers need to be...

    Hats off to bucket moms!!!

I love catching for dd and so does my hubby. No bucket here, I need my reflexes. I made hubby catch for me when we were dating and I was still in HS throwing heat. We've talked about great, and this year we bought a catcher's mitt. I'm not sure when will get great, if we do, but he gets hit more...

Recent Pitching Clinic - why do them?

We are lucky to have some local, or fairly local college clinics that believe more in I/R even if they don't call it that. Dd has taken quite a bit of good info from some of her favorite coaches and players. One of her favorite PCs from a D1 school is now HC at a local D3 that she's liked too...

    Ringor Pitching Toe Cleats

We love Ringor! Dd's first pair lasted 2 years so then e bought more. We went to the factory on our way to a tournament and got her metals, molded, and tied shoes for about $200. Sir won't need speed again for a while! I'd suggest calling about sizing. Dd bought different sizes depending on the...

How many of you forgo the bucket?

I squat always. On a bucket my reflexes aren't as sharp so I get hurt more. My dad never used a bucket in all of the years he caught for me either. My husband doesn't usually use a bucket when he catches, but will take it sometimes if offered.

Learning to Pitch LH Due to Injury

Any recommendations? Close to WA and willing to see someone under 18 would be preferred. Many docs around looked at her age and refused to even see her :( I'm kind of waiting for her EMG at the end of the month figuring that we can't determine much else before that test is done. From there I'll...

Learning to Pitch LH Due to Injury

Best wishes to your wife. I hope the surgery goes well.

Learning to Pitch LH Due to Injury

The pain radiates to her wrist at least, and I think her forearm; tingling is definitely all digits. She can't wear a backpack on that shoulder at all because it exacerbates the symptoms. She also has to work hard (harder than she likes to) when the temps hit mid 30s to keep herself warm...

    Indoor Training Shoes

My dd has ringor turf shoes too. They are awesome and I doubt we'll use anything else in the future. We also have ringor plastic and metal cleats; love them all.

Learning to Pitch LH Due to Injury

Her coach has been great! My girl has done what she can for sure! She hasn't been able to hit, but there are some drills she can do so she does those. She tried slapping Saturday and said that wasn't bad so she'll likely work on perfecting the slap for now too. She likes slapping, just hasn't...
