Lozza Yes, we talked about this with DD, but we don't think this is the best option right now. The team was a young, developing team, with only 2 girls having played TB before so we (DD) knew what the season was going to be like. After another weekend of losing more than winning, final team meeting for the tournament always ends in a team cheer. As you can expect the cheer was half hearted. Assistant coach said "Boy that was weak!" and DD replies "What's weak is losing every weekend and no one cares."- Wookie

With runners on and a bunt/steal situation, make sure your infielders move to their respective spots as soon as the batter shows bunt. This way, then the batter pulls back to hit/slap, she knows where your defenders are so she doesn't hit it to them.- Wookie

What's the most important question to ask the coach of a potential team for your DD?
I would ask the opposing teams' parents/coaches what they thought of said coach, especially if I couldn't attend games/practices to see how that coach acted, and interacted with the players and parents. Also, trust your gut instinct - it's called that for a reason.- Wookie

What to do in this situation?
The only time I look at the clock is if we are playing the next game and I have to make sure I get my next game's pitcher plenty of time to warm up. Otherwise, the clock is only there to allow all of the tournament games to be played.- Wookie

Product review: A Coach's Guide to Training Catchers DVD
As a former baseball catcher, I wish this DVD was available when I was playing. I teach my catcher's from Dave's techniques, and I even have DD (not a catcher) notice other team's catchers who obviously follow the instructions from the DVD. I highly recommend this DVD.- Wookie

Foul tip
No, only if it is, in the umpires opinion, a foul ball above the player's heads. I think the definition of a foul tip is a direct route to the catchers glove, or some sort of language like that. Not entirely correct, but close. It is a judgement call by the ump as to the "infield area". If the ump thinks that an infielder could catch it (or not) then the IFR is called (or not) - it's a judgement call rather than where the ball is.
