So yesterday was second practice day in a row that DD1 came home and said that V was allowed to hit at practice, while JV fielded for them, but JV was not allowed to hit. Once all of V hit, HC said it was time to move on to other things.

JH has first game tonight, so we will see how DD2 does. Only 7th grader on the V team. Last nights practice was base running and plays. No hitting, no pitching. DD2 is #1 pitcher. Should be interesting.

I'm at least hoping the coach will have a better opinion of DD 3 now. They let her start a game against their main rivals.
Run rule victory 21-0. DD 3 allowed no base runners. Raining hard and very muddy.

That's awesome! Hopefully her performance will help.

We do miss a game sit a game here for all sports depending on why they missed. Doctors appointment with a note no sitting, college visit for juniors and seniors only no sit for up to 5 visits but only covers the day of the visit. From there it's coaches discretion but if you miss the day before a game for almost any reason you won't start. But it's the same with school, 5 college visits are excused, one day for each but only for juniors and seniors otherwise it's an unexcused absence

I've coached HS for 30+ years. I have never had a player miss for spring break. It is a given that we will play games and practice. It has been a given that you make all practices and games. I guess when we say things are different other places, they are vastly different.
