Who played this weekend?
Mine is a little long...
We had our first tournament with a brand new team. Talk about exceeding expectations. We've got 3 or 4 who are brand new to travel but they all did great. Undefeated all day and brought home first place, finishing up past midnight Saturday night. I swear I'm still tired.
I feel like I need to brag on the whole team. I really thought if we won a game or two I'd be happy. They looked like they've been playing together for years. Everybody was hitting. Our little 07 didn't hit a lot but she had the highest OBP on the team, over 800! I believe we had 9 fielding errors all day. 4 wild pitches and 5 passed balls all day. Our team batting avg was 347. Remember this is 10U. I feel like those are some really great numbers for such a new and relatively inexperienced team.
D played mostly 3B when she wasn't pitching. Id call her a utility player because of her softball IQ, but most of her experience besides pitcher is 1B and SS. She did awesome though, and she loved playing 3B. And then there was this grand slam (she hit 600 this weekend):

So basically, we had just about the best team debut I could have asked for.
EDIT: I forgot to mention my favorite stat: she pitched 21 strike outs in 9 innings!
