I am in the market for a new set of gear for my 10yr old DD. Does anyone have any experience with this UA gear?
The whole reason I am looking for new gear is because DD took a pitch to the upper chest from a 12yr old and she said it felt like she had no chest protector on at all. After that happened I started reading up on her current gear and it is probably better suited for coach pitch(Easton Natural). Back ground on DD and why i am looking for gear under $200. She hasn't caught since coach pitch. She has been pitching and playing 2B since getting into 10U. About a month ago she asked if she could start catching again. I started working with her in the back yard and after a week or so talked to the HC about getting her in at team practice. She did pretty good so has since been getting some game play behind the plate (pool games mostly). Little Brag she has been pitching really good and has slipped into the #1 spot. With all that being said i want to get her some better gear but do not want to spend tons because I do not know if she will stick with it. In order for her to be a game catcher she would need to stop pitching or atleast pitch less. I dont think she wants to stop pitching. Also does anyone have any experience with their kid wanting to pitch and catch? Were they able to do both competitively?
