You really see how much faster the youth play then mlb. Say you have runners on first and third. Hitter sacs to right runner on first is throw out trying to get to third, runner on third scores. In mlb it would be like 5 min before next pitch was throw, the youth are ready go as soon as the ball is back to the pitcher. While I am trying to answer "what happened to the runner at first" "what happened to the runner on third? Safe at home or out". A couple of those in a row and I am ready to yell for time so I can update.

We have been using Gamechanger for a couple of years and the software is very user friendly and does have a wide variety of stats. The only weakness I see in the Gamechanger is you can't sort your stats by date. I like to track season totals, but I also like to look at tournament performance and with Gamechanger I have to do this manually.

I have tried several different programs and I preferred Gamechanger over the others. I am sure that once you get familiar with any of them they would be better than a paper book. By the way my parents do like the fan benefits with Gamechanger too.

Or another great time is when the other team hands you the line up about 2 min before game starts and your trying to enter their batter names and numbers as they come up to bat while keeping up on the game action

The only thing that I know iScore does that Gamechanger doesn't is chart pitch locations. Obviously, this is highly subjective to whoever is keeping the stats and can be cumbersome to do during a game

Haha..i feel your pain! During HS ball...i just put the opposing team as 1 through 9 while at home..cause I knew I would never catch up when i got to the game.

Outside of MLB the game flys and you get very little time to make multiple entries. I would use the quick roster and edit the players numbers. I didn't need to know their names.

Iscore does show the chart of fanned hits when a new batter comes up.

I've tried both. I like Iscore better. It might be because I started using it first so I was used to it already. Gamechanger locked up on me a few times when I first started using it which also probably soured my opinion. Don't get me wrong Gamechanger is ok. It's also free. If you don't want to make your teams record and game stats online public; it might not be the best. I don't think you can hide that with gamechanger unless you dont upload it. Can you?

GameChanger locked up on me several times also when I was doing the practice games. That would be a bummer in a real game.

What I liked best about it was being able to drag the players. That part is great.

Never had any issues with Gamechanger crashing, but the main thing I don't like is that it thinks errors are always on the player fielding or throwing the ball, not on the player who dropped a good throw from a fielder.

As for its stats variety, it keeps more stats than I could possibly ever care about. Everything is sortable by category, though, so you only have to look at what interests you.

It's also easy to make corrections after the game, if desired. I've never used iScore, so I cannot offer comparative thoughts, but my plan is to continue with Gamechanger.

I have used iscore for a couple of years. It gives you instant stats, hitting charts for opposing teams (if you track it) and is very inexpensive ($10). I definitely recommend the ipad version as you have much more screen real estate to work with. (Make sure you are buying the correct app - the iphone version works on the ipad, but it is not the same app and you don't get alot of the added features.) It takes a few games to get the hang of it (I suggest practicing as much as possible and keeping a separate set of paper books for the first couple of tournaments.) Now we only keep iscore books and it is great. If you are interested, you can also buy a team website for $20 a year that is instantly updated with stat and game information. They have a very capable and attentive online support forum that helps with scoring questions website, and other app issues.

With Iscore can you separate games by tournaments/date?

Also what app was it that someone said you could mark up video on an ipad?
