The Title IX issues are mostly without merit. Women rarely suffer true inequities in college sports.

Things different up here and I was mainly reffering to HS. DD's HS was recently investigated by the OCR and had to build new JV and Varsity softball fields. In my area most HS softball coaches are men and I haven't seen any preference for Women. When the University of MN hired a new softball coach a few years ago, they approached several men first who turned down the job. There's over 100 colleges currently under investigation from the OCR over their handling of sexual assault cases. At this point they're all allegations, but that's a rather high number.

I wouldn't say there's wide spread discrimination, but I wouldn't call things equal yet.

I think things in our parts are pretty even when it comes to playing field for competing for these jobs.

One thing to think about though is sports as a whole and the major role coaches have providing influence over young people. Lets say its 50/50 male and female coaches for female sports...awesome, right? But there is (in my experience) **usually** 100% male coaches for male sports. Not saying that necessarily needs to change, especially if more men are applying for these jobs but it is another perspective to think about.
