Is the Wilson A2k 1721 a replacement for the old Wilson A2K David Wright game model gloves? Can't find many David Wright game model gloves except on Ebay. Both gloves look very similar.

There’s not a lot of info out there on the 1721 yet, there was one discussion over at SBF. The guy who posted said he heard from a very reliable source that the 1721 had a shorter web and shallower pocket than the DW5, but that the build, materials, and fit & finish were top notch!

I personally have never seen one.

Interesting. Not exactly what I was hoping to hear. A shallower pocket and shorter web does not make the 1721 sound like it would make for a good softball glove for a 12" ball. Thank you for letting me know though.

My daughter is currently using a 11.75 A2k (1787) Pro Stock Elite. She just finished up 10u. Looking for a slightly bigger glove and I really like the quality of the Wilson A2k gloves. Not a fan of the A2000 softball gloves.

Daughter sports the A2K 1787 for infield and the a2000 TDFThr at 12.25" for OF. Very happy with both.

Agreed on the a2000 softball gloves. She's just not a fan.

Who is this Wilson for, you or your DD? If for your DD, what age and what position?

As far as the natural progression to the next size Wilson (baseball) glove......I would have absolutely recommended a 12” DW5! I don’t deal with a lot of Wilson gloves these days so I had no idea the DW5 was discontinued! Remember, the 12” DW5 actually measures 11.75”

What about a custom Wilson? The DW5 is still available as a custom, it’s very spendy, but it’s an option!

Maybe reach out to @Westwind, he ordered his DD a custom DW5, he can definitely give you more answers than I can!

Are you 100% stuck on a Wilson? What about custom 12” Pro Preferred? Comparable to a A2K, you could get a custom 12” Pro206 Pro Preferred for a heck of a lot cheaper than a Wilson custom!

DD loves that DW5. We ordered it on advice of AD and ordered it with the pro stiff option, (I think that’s what it’s called), and it absolutely looks great after a bunch of heavy use. It has lasted much better than any other glove she has used.

It is a perfect glove for a middle infielder in my opinion.

I've looked, I can't find a David Wright or a Daniel Norris at any of my regular favorites.......Gambler Bob never has replied to who this glove is for?

Just playing around on the Rawlings builder, here's a 12" Pro206 Pro Preferred with a H-web. I went with all the old school goodies:

Rich Tan Pro Preferred leather, Rich Tan looks insane in person!!
Tan lace.
Split gray rough welting, but on a higher end PP glove, rolled welting will look more classy. I just love split welting!
Vegas gold stitching.
Traditional patches and scarlet embroidery.
Indent stamping.
And I added a palm pad.

The 12" Pro206 is the glove size / model Anna uses, but in your trailer park HOH model ;), it wraps up a 12" ball nicely!
I may be way off base here, just thought I'd throw an idea out there......

Here's a pic of a Rich Tan Pro Preferred I took awhile back at the Myrtle Beach outlet, shows the color pretty well. The Rich Tan is only available on a PP, not a HOH!
