Model: Wilson FP1B
This mitt has impressed me. Very nice quality leather, and great structure. The Super Skin back reduces the weight significantly - this mitt is light! Out of the box, it's very stiff, and will take a significant amount of work to break in, but this tends to indicate being built for long-term durability.

Glove porn for @ANNASDAD

When my DD gets to spend some time with it on the field, I will report back with her verdict.

Confession...This mitt is changing my (previously mediocre) opinion of Wilson A2000s. I'm excited to see the additional A2000s my DD will be using with her new team.

EDIT: The hand opening is small. This is a mitt built for female hands. I have to completely undo the Velcro just to get my hand in it, and it’s still snug. I have pretty average-sized hands.

after 47 years of being a Rawlings guy, I got myself an a2000 for my birthday this year. I am beginning to really like the glove. It is very stiff and as you say, it feels like it is going to last a long time. Unless I buy myself a nice catchers mitt (my dd is pitcher), it is the last glove I'll need. I am impressed as well.

What size and age? I have a 10U that I need to get a first base mitt for. I'm thinking about a middle of the road quality 12".

This mitt is listed as 12”, but is similar to some other 12.5” mitts I’ve seen. If your DD needs something smaller than this, I would stick with a regular fielder’s glove.

My DD is 15yo, playing 16U TB. 1B is her secondary position. I would have no trouble recommending this mitt for 12U and up. 10U might do better with something not so stiff out of the box.

Thanks. She currently used a 12" Shoeless Jane fielders glove. I was waiting until she could handle a 12.5 1B mitt, but current team needed a catcher. She doesn't like catchers mitt, so I may bite the bullet and get a 12" 1B mitt. Thinking middle of road quality, since we will likely have to purchase a bigger one within the next 1-2 years.

I’ve always loved A2000 baseball gloves, it’s their FP gloves that have ALWAYS been so subpar!

I completely agree with Eric here, for a 10 year old for 1B I’d probably try and find a 12” glove with a really snug hand stall.

@TigerFanatic1, actually call Bradley gloves and speak to someone, tell them your situation, let them help you!

Eric, glad you’re impressed with this mitt, I know when we first spoke about the Wilson change, you weren’t too happy! And I can’t blame you!
