Little story
About 34 years ago one of my first students dad hobby was historical information about sports figures in Long Beach California. This gentleman knows so much intricate details of players who came through the city of Long Beach League's, high schools and colleges to become professionals and Olympians.
He has followed the careers of many (perhaps all?)
and is truly a historical encyclopedia of details.
Today, he sent me in the mail, a baseball card and some old newspaper articles.
a brief letter where he wrote "Remember you at the 2009 Hall of Fame banquet talking to a baseball player who was also a catcher. Each showing your crooked fingers."
I remembered the occaision but didnt remember his name.
After all these years my students dad remembered...
