Where should pitcher stand covering home on passed ball/ wild pitch?

We had a HS kid slide headfirst last year. Catcher takes the throw and blocks the path with her knee. Runner slid mouth-first into the knee guard. By some miracle, it didn't knock out any teeth, but she bit completely through both lips. Stitches on top and bottom. I told her it was pretty gangster that after she left in the ambulance, they were raking her blood out of the dirt.

Are facemasks not required on helmets where you are?

Yep. I think she had her chin up and the catcher's knee was low and pushed the mask up. I'll have to go back and look at the video. You have me wondering now.

I know I have a clip I ripped from game changer somewhere, but I can't find it. I did find a couple screenshots from it. They're blurry but I believe what happened was her mask hit the ground and pushed the helmet up. The catcher had taken the throw and rotated her knee to in front of the plate. It was almost on the ground so the mask didn't have to come up much for her mouth to make contact. It's one of those scenes that makes you turn your head.
