Off-shoot from another thread ...
I know things are a bit different everywhere you go, so when are your seasons for softball?
In Illinois:
Middle School/Junior High is in the fall — started games today (practices started July 29) and State is at the end of September.
High School is in the spring — start practices the beginning of March with games starting mid-March. State is the first week of June.
Travel ball ... just about any other time! The “summer” season tournaments will start as early as late-April with state tournaments around the 4th of July. Fall travel ball isn’t as common around here. August is pretty well a down month and you may find a few tournaments on the weekend in September and October. We do have a couple of indoor facilities within an hour or so that will run some winter tournaments.
Rec ball ... when I ran our local program, we would allow teams to start practicing after April 1 or Easter (whichever was later) and would start games the week after Mothers Day. Season was done by 4th of July.
